Santa Came to Hannah's house

Christmas with Family

Hannah as an angel for our nativity on Christmas Eve. She wouldn't wear the sheet though.
Chris took these pictures of himself. I found them on my camera so I get to put them on the blog!

Making Cookies

Hannah was THRILLED to make cookies with Grandma. She was great at cutting out the shapes and eating the extra dough around the edges.

Jacob: Take 2

Well, Jacob and I came home on Saturday morning. It's been a tough, sleepless few days since he has his days and nights very mixed up. We're working on getting him on a schedule though, so for the past two nights I have gotten more than four hours of sleep a night. Jacob is a very mild little spirit. He only fusses when he's hungry or when we are trying to get him to wake up. We are loving having him around the house and Hannah has made the adjustment really well. The surgery went really well. I've had a harder recovery than I remember last time, but every day is getting better, especially as I get more sleep. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. Keep checking for more pictures!

Jacob Brent Luke

Heather, Dustin and Jack came to visit us. This is a comparison of the two little boys. Jack is now 6 weeks old.
Red as red can be.
Hannah was busy writeing letters while she visited little brother in the "hotpistol".
Another view of the red hair.

Hannah was a little nervous to meet Jacob but she warmed up to him and asked to come see him after she went home for a nap. She said, "Go hotpistol see baby Jacob."

Our Luke family photo.

Jacob Brent Luke was born at 7:52am on december 18, 2007 at Bozeman Deconness Hospital. He is 7lb. 3oz. and 19 1/2 inches long. And as you can see has very red hair. Both Camille and Jacob are doing well, in fact the nurses are very impressed with Cami's progress. She is going to get some well earned rest tonight.

Baby Update: It's Time!

I've grown a little person! Babies come in all sizes, though the average newborn is 7 1/2 pounds and 20 inches from head to toe. Everything is ready for our new arrival. The clothes are washed, the cards are out, the presents are wrapped and Grandma Powell has arrived to help. We are very excited to meet our new little one tomorrow morning. Brent and I will be heading to the hospital at 5:30 am to go through all of the preparations and some monitoring of the baby. The c-section is scheduled for 7:30 am and should last about an hour or less. I should only be in recovery for about an hour and then I will be taken to my room. I will most likely be in the hospital until Friday morning. Updates and pictures will be coming soon, although they may not come until I am home. We'll keep you posted. Thank you for the love and support throughout this adventurous journey. We love you all!

The Cook

Every time Mom makes rolls, Hannah has to run and get her rolling pin and "help" me roll them out. As you can see, she does a great job collecting the extra pieces of dough for me. You also get a little glimpse of the baby belly in the last picture. Six more days! C-section at 7:30am on Tuesday morning, the 18th.

Lipstick Girl

Hannah found Mommy's lipstick and was thrilled with herself for putting it all over her face. It's a shiny one that I put over top, so it's hard to see, but it's all over her temples and eyes, cheeks, mouth and chin. Beautiful girl!

Christmas Stockings

We were setting up Christmas last week and Hannah decided to try on our stockings. She got hers and Daddy's on and put Brent's slippers on as well. We had lots of fun putting up the Christmas tree. Hannah has been great at not touching it. Last year we had a half decorated tree, but it looks like this year we'll make it through the holidays with everything still on.

Baby Update: 36 Weeks

Only three more weeks! It's getting cramped in there! Kicking and shoving have replaced the early swooping and rolling—there's simply no more room! He is about 17 inches long and weighs about five pounds. From now on his growth will be slow and steady as he continues to put on weight and fill out. Mom is feeling well. I have been nesting for about eight months now. I am anxious to get Christmas ready so that I can finally relax. Hannah is beginning to sense the change. She has gotten very snugly lately. She even cried this past weekend when Daddy held her cousin and said "MY Daddy!" We'll see how that turns out!

Chistmas Dress

Notice the matching bruise on her forehead. Hannah fell off of the stage at our church building on Saturday evening. We were there for a church party and we were the only one's telling our child to quit playing up there. I thought we were being paranoid until she was the only child who fell off the stage!
This is Hannah's Christmas dress. I found it yesterday and couldn't resist taking pictures.

Baby Update: 25 Weeks

We are doing well! We have a bouncing baby boy, literally, and he makes my tummy roll and roll. During these last weeks, he is gaining weight. He's developed sleeping patterns (and they often have little to do with night and day!) Our little bouncer may be around four and a half pounds right now! Only four more weeks until birth day.

Jack Enslinger

Cami & Jack
Summer, Hannah & Jack
Hannah was told to sit back because she was blocking the other two.
Our friends, Heather and Dustin Enslinger, had their baby boy by c-section on Saturday afternoon. Jack weighed 10 lbs 10 oz and was 21 1/2 inches long. We went to the hospital to visit on Monday morning. It was great for Hannah to see the hospital and get a feel for how things are going to be for her in a few weeks.

Snow!!!

We had snow yesterday! Hannah was thrilled to go outside and play in it. She doesn't seem to remember it from last year, so she had a great time re-discovering.

Funny 2 Year Old

Here are some of Hannah's funny things that she has been doing lately.
  1. She calls Dinosaurs "dinahoars." We went to the Halloween laser show at the museum last weekend and as we drove up, she emphatically called "Dinohoars!"
  2. Hannah has been pinching our bums and saying "cute bum." I don't like it and I can't really yell at her for it because we do it to her all of the time.
  3. "Mommy suck, Daddy suck, Hannah suck too!" This is her way of saying that we're stuck in our seat belts in the car. She hates her car seat and that was our only way to get her calmed down about it was by helping her figure out that we were stuck too. She just misses out on saying the "t" of stuck.
  4. Hannah is great at saying thank you when we go places. We got our flu shots last week and as we were leaving Hannah said "thank you" to the lady who gave us the shots. The nurse about fainted and said "I've NEVER had anyone say thank you after a shot before!"
  5. She calls the Incredibles the "Daddy movie" (which Brent loves) and has to watch it literally every day.
  6. About a month ago, she started saying "2 more minutes" when I would say that it was time for a nap or something else that she didn't want to do. It has gradually grown into "3 more minutes" and "5 more minutes."

Halloween Pajamas

Hannah called her bunny costume pajamas. It makes sense if you think about it... warm and fuzzy and covers all over. Hannah loved having the makeup on her cheeks and was very good about not touching it. We had a ward trunk-or-treat that was lots of fun. Hannah ate 2 hot dogs and lots of candy. She had a great time going to all of the cars and getting candy. A lot of the people said that she was more well behaved than some of the older kids who would just stick out their candy bags, get their candy and run away. Hannah said "Trick-or-Treat" and "Thank You" to every single person.
